Three dacoits were killed in two alleged police encounters that took place in Muhammad Ali Society and Orangi Town areas of the metropolis in the wee hours of Friday.

According to the police, weapons and snatched items were also recovered from the possession of the dacoits.

SP Jamshed Town Rana Shoaib said that the dacoits, riding motorbikes, were engaged in looting citizens near Tipu Sultan traffic signal in Muhammad Ali Society. The police reached the site after which exchange of fire took place. One dacoit was killed on the spot while two more sustained injuries.

However, both the injured dacoits managed to flee, the police official said.

Meanwhile, another encounter took place in Pirabad area of Orangi Town where two dacoits were shot dead while one more managed to escape.
