Woman suicide after clash with husband darakhshan Police

Karachi. A woman committed suicide at her house in Defence after quarreling with her husband on Friday.

Darakhshan police identified the victim as 35-year-old Asia Mumtaz Haider. She locked herself in one of the rooms of her apartment on Badar Commercial after arguing with her husband and ingested poison. When her husband broke into the room a few hours later, he found her unconscious and rushed her to a hospital where she passed away.

Asia Mumtaz Haider (35) is suspected to have committed suicide on Saturday morning in Bayappanahalli following an alleged quarrel she had with her husband Basha Sandani (26), an employee of Oracle. According to Byappanahalli police, Basha used to often demand money from his wife.

The police said that the couple had a fight on Saturday morning following which Basha left home in a huff. When he returned, he found Shabana hanging from a fan. They said that Shabana was declared dead when she was taken to a private hospital. A case of dowry harassment has been filed against Basha, they said. Investigation is on.

Boy found dead

A five-year-old boy, Nakul, died on Sunday after he fell into an open sump in a construction site Gaudanpalya under the Subramanyapuram police station limits. Nakul was studying in UKG.

The boy, whose residence is about 70 ft away from the construction site, had gone outside his home around noon, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Sonia Narang. However, the incident was reported in the evening when residents of the area discovered the body in the sump, she added.

Chain snatching

A 32-year-old woman was waylaid at Vijayanagar by two men on a motorcycle who snatched her gold chain as she was walking home with her eight-year-old son at 7.30 p.m. Saturday.
