Qamar Zaman Kaira says Imran Khan, Qadri had won this battle
ISLAMABAD: With all it is worth, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is out for you to let the democracy elope its tracks, come what may. “We will never let it derail because we have an infallible faith in democracy along with the supremacy of Parliament is our mission”, senior PPP leader, Qamar Zaman Kaira told Samaa after attending a high-level party meeting chaired by Asif Ali Zardari here.
PPP is actively eager to defuse the ongoing political crisis that erupted after thousands of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek protestors marched on Islamabad demanding ouster of Pm Nawaz Sharif. To a question, Kaira said the party chief, Asif Ali Zardari was in total agreement with the line the PPP leadership is taking to break a stalemate between the protesting parties and the government. “We are doing what we can so that a constitutional consensus is reached just before Chinese leader’s visit to Pakistan”, said he. Championing Syed Khursheed Shah, Opposition Leader in nationwide Assembly, Kaira said PAT leader Dr Tahirul Qadri was requested to try to keep from adding to existing estrangement. Earlier involving day Dr Qadri had snubbed Shah for a statement he issued while addressing the joint session of parliament on the surface of the house.
