Pandit Beaten By Punjabi Boy Shocking Incident
In yet another shocking incident, Ramdas Valvi, 47, an adivasi bonded labourer from Udhale village in Mokhada tehsil of Thane was tortured and killed on December 10 by a brick kiln owner Ramesh Bhoir in Ovala village near Ghodbunder 75km away. It was World Human Rights Day.
Coming two days before the suo moto petition based on DNA report about the killing of adivasi in rural Thane, all eyes will now be on how the Bombay HC reacts to this fresh outrage.
The deceased’s son Shivram’s account of what transpired seems like a chilling repeat of the cruel torture and killing of Jhipru Mukane on November 29. “My father had borrowed Rs4,000 from Bhoir, who also has kilns in Mokhada, four months ago. About 15 days ago Bhoir sent his men to bring my father to work at his kiln at Ovala village,” recounts the 22-year-old.
