Nawaz Sharif Poked fun, give Shah Sahib an energy drink
KARACHI: To blow off some steam at an otherwise tense high-level security meeting held here on Wednesday, Prime Minister, Mian Nawaz Sharif, poked fun at the octogenarian Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah for dragging heels on the alarming law & order situation in the metropolis.
“Zardari Sahib, please give Shah Sahib an ‘energy drink'”, said he jocularly making a reference to the painfully slow anti-crime drive in metropolis.
The cricket-loving Sharif could not help quipping that being the captain of the Karachi law enforcement operation, CM Sindh should be playing a T-20 match instead of a Test.
The PM, who relentlessly cracked whip on the authorities for going easy on the Karachi law & order tasks, punctuated his tough talk with witticism, from time to time,t to clear the air.
The prime minister raised the question about last meeting’s orders like the issuance of red warrants for dangerous criminals, construction of a high-profile jail in Jamshoro, purchase of arms, shifting of anti-terrorism court to Malir Cantt, hearing of cases under PPO, etc.
