Mild earthquake felt in United Arab Emirates UAE, Iran
DUBAI: A mild earthquake was felt in United Arab Emirates and parts of Iran, with no loss of life or damage was reported immediately.
The tremor jolted buildings in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and parts of Iran, sending people running into streets out of fear. Several buildings were evacuated.
According to the US Geological Survey, the intensity of the tremor was measured 5.1 at the Richter scale.
It said the 11:10am quake was centered few kilometres from Qeshm Island in Iran.
The Qeshm Island is located a few kilometers off the southern coast of Iran (Persian Gulf), opposite the port cities of Bandar Abbas and Bandar Khamir.
