Lecturer beaten to death in Pampore profession to death toll rises to 76
Srinagar: A 30-year-old contractual lecturer was beaten to death by forces in Shaar Saali village of Khrew Pampore late Wednesday night, with this death toll climbs to 73 in the ongoing unrest which started on July 8 when Hizb Commander Burhan Wani was killed in a brief encounter.
According to reports, forces on late Wednesday night barged into the residential areas in Khrew, Pampore and thrashed several including a lecturer by profession to death.
On Thursday morning the dead body of lecturer Shabir Ahmed was given to the family. Shabir was one among the arrested late night.
According to locals, Shabir was picked up by the government forces last night along with other youth during nocturnal raid in the area. A senior doctor at Pampore sub-district hospital said Mangoo was brought dead to the hospital.
The locals said that the forces barged into their houses and started beating the inmates including the women in which scores were injured.
