Polio vaccination, travel care centre set up
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Administrator Rauf Akhtar Farooqui issued on Thursday orders for establishment of a Polio Vaccination and Travel Care Centre in the Civic Centre Building.
People could get vaccinations done from Poly Clinic situated on the ground floor of the Civic Centre, vaccination certificates would also be issued from the clinic. Two senior medical officers Dr M. Nadeem Saeed and Dr Shahid Mehboob were designated for the issuance of polio vaccination certificate, said KMC administrator.
The orders came in pursuance of the Sindh Health Department’s decision regarding setting up of centres for facilitation of locals travelling abroad.
The anti-encroachment team of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation on Wednesday removed roadside encroachments, including bus terminals, cabins, hotels, tyre puncture shops and other such structures, from Nazimabad’s Jalalabad Colony with the help of heavy machinery.
According to details, police and Rangers also helped the KMC team carry out the operation, which was supervised by KMC Director Anti-Encroachment Mazhar Khan.
