The United Nations has declared that India has failed in stopping the increased number of gang activities. According to the UN Committee on Rights of the Children, law enforcing agencies and judiciary has failed in doing their duties to stop sexual harassment.

The president of the said committee has said that the agencies in India had neglected their duties. The Committee has pointed out that one third of the victims of sexual harassment are under age. 50 per cent criminals are not strangers but they are known to the victims.
