Unauthorized and Illegal Usage & Trading of
DECT 6.0 Cordless Phones
It is for the information of public at large and all concerned that pursuant to Section 29 of Pakistan Telecommunication (Re-Organization) Act, 1996 (the “Act”) ‘no terminal equipment shall directly or indirectly be connected to a public switched network unless it has been approved by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA)
It has come to PTAs knowledge that non-type approved equipment DECT 6.0 Cordless Phones operating in the frequency ranges of 1880-1900 MHz, 1900-1920 MHz and 1910-1930 MHz are being unauthorizedly and illegally used, operated or traded in the market and causing interference in the authorized frequencies allocated to other operators.
Therefore, through this public notice all concerned are hereby informed I warned to stop usage, operation, sale, purchase, or import, etc of the equipment DECT 6.0 Cordless Phones with immediate effect, in their own interest. In case of noncompliance and continuous violation, strict legal action under Section 31 of the Act and applicable laws will be initiated and case(s) will be referred to the concerned Law Enforcement Agencies IFIA against the violators or whoever is found involved and identified through nationwide survey(s) I inspection(s) to be carried out by PTA and/or Frequency Allocation Board for the purpose.
