Boy Looted ATM in 5 Minutes at Metro Cash & Carry
Unidentified robbers uprooted an ATM containing Rs 1.88 lakh and made away with it in Karachi early on Saturday. An alarm went off at the adjoining Habib Bank office as soon as the ATM was tempered with, but by the time the police arrived at the spot, the robbers had disappeared. They used an SUV to carry the ATM which was found damaged seven hours later, nearly 15 km from the spot.
According to the police, the Punjab National Bank’s ATM was outside the Metro Mall in Karachi. “Unidentifed robbers who were 3 or 4 in number entered the ATM around 3 am on Saturday and sprayed something on the CCTV installed in the cabin. The ATM was just sitting on the floor, because it took the robbers hardly 5 minutes to uproot it,” said a police officer. There was supposed to be a guard outside the BSNL office, but during prelimianary investigation it has come up that he was abscent.
