Altaf Hassain Govt Failed to issue passport
MQM leader Tahir Mashahdi warned that his party might shut down Karachi for the entire year if government failed to issue passport to his party leader Altaf Hussain.
Hussain, who is living in London under self-imposed exile since 1992, applied for a passport in early April.
Speaking in the Upper House, Senator Tahir Mashhadi said that passport was not issued to Hussain despite payment of fee in this regard on April 4. He said that Hussain’s thumb prints and pictures were also taken at NADRA’s Office in London.
Mashhadi scolded government officials, saying they were lying regarding Hussain’s request to obtain the passport.
